Coronation Street teen ‘chuffed to bits’ as they celebrate huge milestone

Coronation Street star Kyran Bowes is celebrating a huge milestone after passing his driving test.

The teenager, who plays Jack Webster in the ITV soap, has been learning to drive after turning 17 in April.

Kyran shared a celebratory snap on Instagram on Thursday as he told fans of how he was ‘chuffed’ that his test could not have gone better.

He could be seen standing next to a car posing with a certificate, as he wrote: ‘Chuffed to bits today passed 1st time with zero faults.’

Co-star Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays his step-mum Abi Webster, was among those who congratulated him, writing: ‘YOU DID IT!!! Woohooooo!’

Kyran has played the role of Jack since 2016, and has been involved in some big storylines, including one which saw the character develop sepsis after cutting his knee while playing football.

This storyline had an important real-life impact, as it helped one mother spot the symptoms of sepsis in her daughter, which may have saved her life.

In the show, Jack’s body didn’t react as well to antibiotics as doctors had hoped, and they were eventually forced to amputate his lower leg.
Kyran previously took a nine-month break from the cobbles in late 2022 to focus on his GCSEs.

Ahead of his return to screens in September last year, he shared a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, celebrating his exam results.

He said at the time: ‘Happy to say I’m back and even happier to say I passed my GCSES. Hard work and perseverance really does pay off. Now it’s time to celebrate.’
