A sad exit could be on the way for one Coronation Street legend if a new theory is correct.
David Platt has sparked fears he will be killed off after a major twist this week. He could be about to get on the wrong side of two villains, and fans do not think it will end well.
Given one of these villains has had one character attacked and another left in danger just days ago, fans are worried David is next. As we finally found out the person who stole Damon Hay’s cash from the lock-up this week, it sparked theories of a shock exit being on the cards.
David was confirmed to have taken the cash after his sister Sarah Platt’s ex Damon offered it to her, to pay for her daughter’s medical bills. When the cash went missing a number of characters were accused, including newcomer Jesse Chadwick.
But when Damon’s evil brother Harvey Gaskell found out about the money, retrieved in a robbery, he fumed about his sibling. Believing he was owed some of the cash he got someone to attack Damon in his cell, before having new baddie Logan Radcliffe terrorise Sarah.
Logan broke into her flat believing she had the cash and soon Sarah and Bethany were under threat. But after Sarah told David what had happened, fans were stunned to see him hiding a bag of cash in the cupboard under the stairs at his house.
It revealed he was the thief, and now he could be in serious danger. With Sarah warning that her family could be at risk with Harvey out for revenge, it was clear David was panicked.
Given what Harvey did to Damon and what he was prepared to do to Sarah, would he think twice about killing David if he finds out he stole the money? Viewers are fearing there might be no way out for the soap legend, who was born on the show in 1990.
Actor Jack P Shepherd took on the role in 2000, but is his character about to be killed off after 34 years? One fan speculated: “Oh no how does he think he is going to get away with that. I wonder is David leaving Corrie?”
Another said: “You fool David,” as a third commented: “He’ll be leaving Corrie for a while if he gets beaten up for nicking the money, think he’s got away with it lol.”
