RETURN OF THE MAC Hollyoaks legend Danny Mac returning after 10 years – and he’s already started filming
THE actor was last seen playing Dodger Savage in 2015 but is returning for an explosive storyline
A HOLLYOAKS legend is making a shock comeback after a decade away, The Sun can exclusively reveal.
Actor Danny Mac – who played Dodger Savage in the Channel 4 soap between 2011 and 2015 – has returned to filming for a permanent return to the soap.
Viewers will see him on screens from January as he has a dramatic reunion with the rest of the Blake family.
A source said: “Bosses are really keen to solidify the clans in the village and bringing Dodger back and reuniting him with his sisters and dad and very dangerous grandmother is the cherry on top for them.
“Danny’s really excited to be back filming and back on the show.
“It’s a really exciting time under Hannah and it was the perfect time to return.
“There are big plans for the character and the rebuilt Blake family with explosive twists and turns coming.”
Dodger was last seen in the village in 2015 when his daughter Nico pushed his brother Will off a rooftop, seemingly killing him.
Hoping to protect his daughter Dodger took the blame and planned to flee with lover Maxine Minniver, but at the last minute left alone for a new life on the run alone.
He was involved in some of the most controversial storylines in Hollyoaks history including a reveal that he was the father of twin sister Sienna Blake’s daughter Nico.
It was revealed that the pair had met as teenagers, not knowing they were twins and Sienna fell pregnant.
Later when they were reunited twisted Sienna developed feelings for him once more, knowing full well he was her brother – and she kidnapped him holding him hostage in an attempt to make him resume their relationship.

The soap has recently introduced Dodger and Sienna’s actual biological father Jez Blake – the twin brother of Patrick, the man they thought was their father.
Now Jez and his dangerous mother Martha have arrived in the village to head up the family and Dodger’s return will complete the family.
Since leaving the show Danny went on to compete in Strictly Come Dancing in 2016, finishing as runner-up with Oti Mabuse.
He also appeared in Sky comedy Trollied, an episode of Midsomer Murders and two episodes of BBC soap Doctors.
Danny will also be appearing as Captain Hook in pantomime Peter Pan in Birmingham from December to February.
