Big shock for iconic clan as family member’s killer ‘returns’ in Coronation Street
Amid Gail’s (Helen Worth) exit storyline in Coronation Street, the Platt family are about to face another problem soon when David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) starts receiving messages from Weatherfield prison.
Your first thought is probably going to be that this is linked to Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths). A few weeks ago, it was confirmed David stole the bag of money Damon had hidden for Sarah (Tina O’Brien).
Intriguingly, Damon doesn’t appear to be linked to this new narrative, as we also learn in the week that the messages from the prison are actually being addressed to Shona (Julia Goulding).
Coming up, after taking a look at an email, David reaches for a letter in his back pocket but covers when Shona enters.
A few days later, David waits until the evening to open Shona’s laptop and deletes even more emails.
If someone is trying to contact Shona, could it be her murderous son Clayton?
Callum Harrison played the role of Clayton from 2016-2020. The character was responsible for killing David’s beloved wife Kylie (Paula Lane).
After taking Shona hostage, Clayton has been behind bars ever since – so what on earth does he want with his mum now if it is him?
Will Shona ever find out if David never tells her about the emails?
The Platt clan have an awful lot going on right now. A few days ago, Gail was rushed to hospital and had an operation to have a stent fitted in her heart.
The storyline will eventually lead to Gail’s departure from the show, as Helen Worth says goodbye to the street after almost 50 years.
