The following article contains spoilers from an episode of EastEnders that hasn’t aired on BBC One yet, but is available to view on BBC iPlayer.

Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) has finally left EastEnders.

This week, Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) shocked everyone and their dog by announcing she was back with Nish. It’s been quite the eventful week for her, as she and the other women involved in the Christmas Day death of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) headed to the police station to give a fresh interview.

Nish became suspicious when he overheard them discussing their fabricated story that incriminated Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo). Later, he stole Suki’s phone from her kitchen table and sent a text to Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), implying that Suki had spilled on the festive murder.

After hearing every gruesome detail, he told Suki that he wanted revenge on Eve in exchange for his silence.

She agreed to spend one night with him, but he wasn’t satisfied – a bigger sacrifice would have to be made to stop her and the other leading ladies from spending the rest of their life behind bars.

Curious as to what on earth was going on, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) ushered Suki into the kitchen where she questioned what the real motive of the plan was. Suki explained that Nish had agreed to take the blame for Keanu’s death if they got back together, though once he was locked up she planned to cut him off.

Little did they know, Nish could overhear their every word.

Later on, Suki was stood outside the house taking in the magnitude of the situation, as Nish revealed he wouldn’t be going to the police to confess after all.

In tonight’s episode, Suki and Nish sat down to dinner. Once they decided wine was needed, Suki headed to the Minute Mart for time alone. After she sent Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) home, Stacey arrived in search of an update.

Suki was in tears by this point and told Stacey it didn’t look as though their plan was going to work.

As they chatted, Nish was alone and becoming very angry. By the time Suki returned, a fuming Nish took his anger out on her and wondered why she cannot love him anymore.

As Nish pushed Suki onto the table, Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James), Stacey and Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) arrived.

Stacey pulled Nish from Suki as Avani screamed at her granddad to stop. In the kitchen, the two characters had a conversation as Avani became terrified of Nish’s dark behaviour.

She said that while she loves Nish, she knows Suki doesn’t and if he has any good in his heart, he will let her go.

Seeing Avani utterly terrified was seemingly enough for the fog to be lifted from Nish’s mind. For the first time in what felt like forever, he had actually listened to someone.

With that, Nish left the Panesar home and instructed The Six to enter the pub. There, he spoke about the events of Christmas Day and wanted to know exactly how Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) killed Keanu.

As blue lights approached Walford, a few members of the group thought Nish had called the police for them – but that thankfully wasn’t the case.

At the Panesar home, Nish spoke to DCI Arthurs and spun a massive story that made it look as though he orchestrated Keanu’s death. Given his previous conviction after murdering an old family friend, Nish’s fate was sealed.

Outside, as fireworks lit up the sky, The Six watched as Nish was placed into a police car and driven away.

Finally, after almost a year, this ordeal is finally over.
