Bethany Platt’s Coronation Street exit story ‘revealed’ – and she’s not the only one going
Bethany Platt star Lucy Fallon recently announced that she is pregnant with her second child, and fans think they know how she will exit Coronation Street as she heads on maternity leave.
Bethany has had a tough few months, after a cosmetic procedure went wrong and left her needing a permanent stoma bag.
She has struggled to adjust to the change, leaving her family concerned.
In recent scenes, Bethany headed to the Rovers for the first time since her life-changing operation, but was left feeling humiliated when her stoma bag leaked.
As a result, she decided to throw away all of her nice clothes, claiming that she would never be able to wear them again.
Now, fans think that Bethany’s exit will be a direct result of her recent struggles – but they don’t think she’ll go alone.
Corrie fans will know that Gail Platt legend Helen Worth is soon set to depart the ITV soap – but could Bethany be set to go with her?
‘I think she will end up going away with Gail for an extended holiday,’ one fan suggested on Facebook.
Another agreed, saying: ‘She will have some sort of breakdown about the stoma and leave with Gail.’
A third praised the soap for their handling of the storyline, before making their own suggestion: ‘I think the Stoma storyline has been really well handled. I suspect she will go with Gail and Jessie to “find herself”.’
Producer Iain MacLeod previously promised a happy ending for Gail, who has spent the last 50 years on the cobbles.
‘Gail won’t die. It didn’t feel like killing her off would be right,’ he told the Daily Star.
‘Gail’s exit is a brilliant story, I thought what do viewers want to see?
‘Gail has had a hard life. She had a difficult childhood and some disastrous marriages. So, we thought what viewers really want is a happy ending for her, so that’s what we’re doing.’
Could Gail be set to be joined by Bethany as she heads off to pastures new?
However Bethany leaves, actress Lucy Fallon has confirmed that it won’t be forever.
‘Lots of Corrie related q’s – I won’t be away for tooo long and I am returning after I pop the baby out,’ she wrote after sharing a mirror selfie on set to her Instagram Stories.
