EastEnders are set to kill off a major character this Christmas.
The festive edition of the BBC soap is always packed full of high-drama, and just 12 months on from Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) murdering Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) with a meat thermometer, another resident is set to meet their maker.
Top secret information has been uncovered by a member of the public, who found a number of scripts for episodes that will play out over the next two months.
After spotting the documents left behind by an unnamed actress on a train, he then took them home to his wife in the hope they could return them.
Although they reportedly reached out to the star on Instagram, they failed to get in touch and instead handed them over to The Sun, who have published pictures of a reporter delivering them back to the show’s Hertfordshire production base.
They can be seen shaking hands with Colin Salmon, who plays George Knight, though he is not the actor who misplaced them.
‘There’s a real twist that will shock everyone and a main character is killed off’ teased the woman whose husband found the papers.
‘It’s an incredible storyline.’
The filming for two episodes ran from October 14th to November 1st, while the third ran from November 4th-15th.
This means that some of the content will cover the New Year, just one month before the 40th Anniversary celebrations – which will be commemorated with a live episode.
A BBC spokesperson later thanked the couple, and The Sun, for returning them – seemingly confirming that the contents were authentic.
We’ve already seen cast and crew on location filming funeral scenes, which may the death that has been hinted at.
Paparazzi photos emerged of former stars Maddy Hill and Danny Hatchard reprising their roles as Nancy and Lee Carter outside of a church.
We also saw Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) – and the family were attending a funeral.
Atop the white casket was a single pink rose, whilst Nancy could be seen wearing pink flamingo earrings – very similar to those that her mum wears.
