Cain left covered in blood as Moira is rushed into hospital surgery in Emmerdale
It’s finally the day of Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) surgery in upcoming episodes of Emmerdale and as expected, both she and Cain (Jeff Hordley) are struggling.
Shortly after Moira was diagnosed with a brain tumour, she made the decision that she wouldn’t have surgery. It was news that Cain struggled to accept but also didn’t have control over.
With that, the family attempted to adjust to their new way of living and helping Moira, who often experiences symptoms such as memory loss and seizures.
Moira was apprehensive about getting the surgery at first but ultimately she came to believe it was the best option all around, though she made a living will just in case things didn’t go as she’d hoped during the operation.
Recently in the soap, Moira said goodbye to Cain ahead of her trip to see Adam Barton (Adam Thomas).
The news of the imminent trip took Cain by surprise, as Moira thought she’d already told him and apologised profusely for the miscommunication.
After the confusion subsided, Cain proved supportive, telling Moira to take as long as she needed as he gave her a big hug.
The reality of the situation seemingly set in for the mechanic, as he held on tightly to his wife, knowing that they will soon have to do this before the operation, with the prospect of a more permanent goodbye on the cards if things don’t go according to plan.
Next week in the soap, Moira continues to prepare for the worst regarding her operation. Meanwhile, in the garage, a tormented Cain struggles to process the fact he might lose Moira.
After Moira’s surgery, a special episode will air that focuses on Cain’s day as he struggles with his emotions.
Cain’s story will play in reverse chronological order and begins with his brother Caleb Miligan (William Ash) finding Cain drunk and with blood on his hands.
