Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent ‘completely devastated’ as she pays tribute after heartbreaking loss
Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent has paid tribute to her Nana Joan after sadly losing her earlier this year.
The Sophie Webster actress took to Instagram to announce that her Nana had sadly died on October 5, leaving the family ‘completely devastated and truly lost’.
She shared a carousel of photo memories with her beloved Nana, as well as a heartfelt tribute in the caption.
‘On October 5th our family’s whole world was turned upside down, as we lost our beautiful, amazing, ICONIC Nana Joan,’ she wrote.
‘Yesterday we laid her to rest with a service that was full to the brim of people that loved and cared for her.
‘I thought by now I would have the words to explain what this loss means to me but the truth is I don’t think I will ever, my nanas passing has left our family feeling completely devastated and truly lost.
‘Thank you to everybody who has reached out over the past unsettling month, your love and kind words haven’t gone unnoticed.’
She continued by adding a message directly to her Nana, which read: ‘I couldn’t tell you anymore how much I loved you, I find comfort in knowing you always knew that.
‘Me and my boys were the luckiest to have you.
‘Now I’m glad of the 96 videos I have of you and our happy times! I know how many people on here loved and adored my nana and our videos! She always loved being “recognised”.
‘Thank you for loving her as much as we all did. I love you Nana. I will forever miss you.’
Brooke was soon inundated with comments of support and love from her Coronation Street co-stars, as well as actors from other soaps.
‘I loved hearing your Nana stories, she was such a legend,’ Abi Webster star Sally Carman wrote, ‘So, so sorry Brooke, sending you a ton of love.’
‘Brooke,’ Hayley Tamaddon, who played Andrea Beckett until 2015, began, adding a series of sad face emojis. ‘I am so sorry… she was an icon. And she was so proud of you. Big hugs darling girl. Here if you need me.’
‘Nana Joan was a treasure. Sending you lots of love,’ Sally Metcalfe actress Sally Dynevor added, while Brooke’s real-life cousin and Faye Windass star Ellie Leach simply wrote, ‘nana joan,’ with a love heart.
Brooke starred as Sophie Webster in the ITV soap from 2004 until 2019.
Throughout her time on the show Sophie was involved in some huge storylines, including her much-loved relationship with Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson)
