Beth Cordingly’s real-life partner who is an Emmerdale legend reacts to Ruby and Cain
The partner of Emmerdale’s Beth Cordingly has reacted to the recent twist involving her character Ruby Fox-Miligan and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
Last week, while Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) faced her all-important brain surgery, we watched Cain deal with the worrying day.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Cain did anything but cope. After getting drunk and punching Jimmy King (Nick Miles), Cain made his way to the garage.
Ruby then came in, apparently hiding from someone – most likely her dad Anthony (Nicholas Day) who’s recently appeared in the village.
She had a swig of Cain’s whisky and started goading him, telling him ‘For a big man you are really weak’ for not being at Moira’s side. He responded by asking her about her own messed up family.
She got angry, pushed him, and they ended up in a passionate embrace.
And no, we’re still not over it.
Nearly a week on from this development and fans of the ITV soap are still talking about it – and even Beth’s real-life partner had something to say!
Ian Kelsey rose to fame as Kim Tate’s (Claire King) former flame Dave Glover in the show.
The couple have been together for over three years, with Beth previously stating that Ian was ‘really supportive’ when she landed the role of Ruby on the long-running serial drama.
Recently, Ian took to Instagram to react to a comment from a fan, who asked him to ‘keep an eye on Ruby and Cain’.
Captioning the post ‘I may be in China…. But I’m watching’, the actor said in the video:
‘Tell me about it! I’ve been watching from China well, not watching, because I covered my eyes at that bit but…’, the actor then pointed to his eyes and then the camera, joking that he’ll be keeping a watchful eye over the two characters.
Beth has also shared her disbelief over Ruby and Cain sleeping together.
‘I know, it’s bad innit? It’s really bad,’ she said in a social media video last week.
‘What’s going to happen when Moira finds out? I’m scared! And Caleb. Moira’s probably more scary.’
She continued: ‘When they told me in the storyline meeting that was going to happen, I literally went like this, “Arrrrghhhhhh!”’. Beth captioned the post: ‘Tonight’s episode. I KNOW. #notagoodidea’.
Actress Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira, had previously revealed how she’d pleaded with Emmerdale bosses to keep Moira and Cain together.
She told Metro: ‘I think it’s really important that they stay together. I had this chat with [producer] Iain MacLeod, we were talking about marriage and I said ‘Marriages go through things – there’s temptation, there’s things that can happen.’
She continued: ‘It’s worked out to be wonderful, and the longevity of it – I can’t remember how long they’ve been married for now, must be 7, 8 or 9 years – it’s not bad.
‘We’ve threatened divorce once or twice but we didn’t quite get there either!’
