David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) is left seriously worried in upcoming Coronation Street scenes when he finds blood-soaked clothes belonging to Shona Platt (Julia Goulding).

Things have been tense between Shona and David ever since her son Clayton was rushed to hospital after a suicide attempt in prison.

Unbeknown to Shona, David had known that Clayton was trying to get in contact with her, and even visited him in prison to try and warn him off.

In recent scenes, Shona and David had a meeting with the prison governor who let slip that someone had visited Clayton, though David managed to cover, leaving Shona none the wiser.

But will he be able to keep it from her forever?

Next week gets off to a rocky start for the couple when David tells Shona to sleep on the sofa – but as she beds down for the night, she receives a text.

Later, she taps on the door of a hotel room – but who is she visiting?

When she eventually sneaks back into the family home, she is clutching an injured arm, but fails to tell the truth about how she got it.

She makes out to David that she fell down the stairs in the night and broke her arm in two places, when in reality she was almost knocked down by a car.

The next day, David is shocked to find Shona’s coat in the wheelie bin, all bloodied and torn.

As Shona heads out to put a bag of rubbish over the offending item, she realises she is too late to hide it when David begins to quiz her.

Shona makes out that the coat got ruined when she fell down the stairs, but will her story be enough to convince David?
