Viewers tuning into Emmerdale on Wednesday believed they had worked out what was going on with Ruby Miligan.
She’s been hiding something for weeks, while it seems to be a secret from her past. Ever since the return of her estranged father Anthony, she’s been spiralling and turning to booze, while she also cheated on husband Caleb Miligan with his own brother Cain Dingle.
But with it clear there’s a reason she wants her dad Anthony out of the picture, more clues have been teased. Recently we saw her acting out after seeing a photo of herself as a teenager.
Ruby has made comments to Caleb about not wanting her dad to be in her life, and how she sees him for what he is. Now, the latest episode saw a conversation that could have a sinister meaning.
Whatever was discussed left Ruby facing turmoil once more and she ended up suffering from a panic attack. Her dad had shared they were close once, leaving Ruby’s daughter Steph stunned.
He then got teary as he claimed Ruby’s mother came between them and he allowed it to happen. He apologised for how he let her be treated by Helen, before Ruby was kicked out for falling pregnant as a teenager.

He claimed: “[Your mum was] jealous because you and she never bonded.” It’s what he said next though that left Ruby in pieces, with fans left concerned by what he meant.
Anthony told her: “None of what happened was fair to you,” adding he wanted her to know how sorry he was. Ruby told him: “There’s some things you can’t undo.”
Anthony added it “wasn’t just about them” before saying he would do things differently if he could. He added: “The past is the past,” as Ruby then appeared in a state and left to go to the shop.
She was clearly rattled though and as she left the house she began breathing heavily, and suffered a panic attack. His words echoed, repeating out loud about nothing being fair on Ruby.
