Complicated Emmerdale couple declare their love as future is confirmed
In the biggest shocker of all of Emmerdale’s recent storylines – Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) has managed to find love again.
There’s something in the water, as just as his mum Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) finds love with her new squeeze Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) Aaron is facing his feelings for John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
It hasn’t always been romance for these two. They started out as a one-off hook up by the side of the road in John’s (Oliver Farnworth) campervan. John then took off with Aaron’s wallet and keys and it looked certain that this was over before it began.
But as they kept running into each other, John realised he couldn’t resist Aaron’s brooding looks, and those little hook ups kept happening.
There was a temporary spanner in the works when Ross (Mike Parr) returned with news about baby Seb’s whereabouts and lots of talk of Robert that threatened to drive a bit of a wedge between the couple.
But the ultimate moment of romance happened at the illegal boxing match and sealed the deal. John saved Aaron’s life when he suffered a hemopneumothorax and John cured it with a police officer’s biro.
Aaron couldn’t not swoon after those heroics.
But their relationship is both set to be tested and cemented when John makes a big gesture – in a bid to bring Aaron into his world, he tries to take him camping.
Aaron turns his nose up, but John is persistent – having lived in his van for a good while, camping is a big part of his life.
Aaron out in the wilderness is about as comfortable as Cain baking cupcakes for his kids in a pinny. But it’s the best move the pair could make, as John feels closer to his boyfriend and finally starts opening up to him.
He reveals things about his life and past he would usually prefer to keep buried deep, and the moment is all warm and fuzzy for the couple.
As the pair connect on an intimate level, something is stirred in John. As the pair become closer, they both declare their love.
John then makes yet another, even bigger, gesture. Caught off guard, how will Aaron react?
