Coronation Street fans discover iconic star has actually been on the show before
Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has won fans over with her portrayal of the formidable DS Lisa Swain, but this isn’t her first role on the ITV soap, as fans have recently discovered.
The actress first hit our screens as Lisa in 2021, when the detective sergeant was tasked with finding Seb Franklin’s killer.
In the years that followed, she popped up numerous times, as she attempted to solve the mystery behind Imran Habeeb’s death and catch serial killer Stephen Reid.
Earlier this year, she became a regular character, and has now settled into a loving relationship with girlfriend Carla Connor (Alison King).
The two got off to a frosty start, but with feelings bubbling under the surface, it wasn’t long before they were unable to suppress them.
However, fans have uncovered a scene that saw Vicky play an unnamed motorist in 2010.
In the scene, she was approached by Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), who had just been in a car accident with wife Molly Dobbs, who was unconscious in the wreck of the car.
Fans shared the clip to TikTok, with many people in the comments revealing that they had forgotten about her previous appearance.
‘Omg how do I not remember this?’ One fan wrote, while another said: ‘Don’t remember this.’
‘Omg I forgot about this!’ A third added.
Prior to this appearance, Vicky had also popped up on the cobbles on two more occasions – once in 1998 and again in 2007.
In 2007, she played a paramedic who arrived on the scene of the fire at No.4, which saw Claire Peacock targeted by stalker Casey Carswell, who had deliberately set the place on fire.
Thankfully, Claire survived the ordeal.
In 1998, Vicky was a supporting artist (extra) in the show, as a nurse in Des Barnes’ final episode.
‘I was in scenes with Denise Welch and Phil Middlemiss, who played Natalie and Des Barnes,’ she previously told The Mirror.
‘I was playing a nurse and it was the episode where Des died. To watch Denise, and to learn the jargon and etiquette, was incredible, money can’t buy that kind of experience.’
Away from The Street, Vicky played Debbie Gartside in Channel 4 school-based drama Ackley Bridge, and has had roles in Platform 7 and Casualty.
