Emmerdale legend ‘recharged’ after holiday with real-life husband she met in the village

Former Emmerdale star Fiona Wade has shared an snapshot of her luxurious holiday to Goa with her real-life husband who she met on the show.

The actress played Priya Kotecha on the ITV soap from 2011 to 2023, during which time she met fellow actor Simon Cotton.

He popped up in Emmerdale as Home Farm Estate client Hugh Bryant in August 2017.

The couple have enjoyed a pre-Christmas getaway together exploring North and South Goa in India.

Sharing a series of pictures and videos on Instagram, Fiona said the trip had left her ‘feeling recharged and so blessed’.

She wrote: ‘North & South Goa.. Utterly beautiful. Incredible memories. We met so many beautiful people inside and out.

‘I fell in love with India & the impression it’s left on me will stay with me always. Feeling recharged and so blessed.’

Fiona left her role as Priya last year as her character departed the Dales for a new life in London after being offered an exciting new job.

It came after a distressing event at Take A Vow, when a small fire reminded Priya of the devastating incident in a maze fire that had left her permanently scarred.

Fiona and Simon celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary back in October.

At the time, she shared In a series of snaps from their life together so far on Instagram.

The star wrote in the caption: ‘Happy 5 years baby!! The happiest 5 years of my life have been because of you. I love you endlessly & I can’t wait for eternity with you.’

As well as his role in Emmerdale, Simon has appeared in The Fall Of The Krays, The Unseen, Doctors, and Amazon Prime’s Hanna.
