Coronation Street ‘confirms’ unexpected reunion for two major couples – and controversy will follow
Two Coronation Street couples look set to reunite at Christmas – but it couldn’t, or wouldn’t happen without a hitch!
The first of these couples is Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson) and his old flame Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver).
They briefly dated in the late 00s, but he departed Weatherfield in 2010 when he made a pass at her sister Julie (Katy Cavanagh). She was gobsmacked to see him return earlier this year – now coupled up with stalwart Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth)!
Eileen and Gail have been enemies for decades, first sparked when their children Todd (then Bruno Langley) and Sarah (Tina O’Brien) were together.
Jesse will now spend Christmas Eve sleeping on the sofa at No. 11 after Eileen offered him a roof for the night. It seems that his forthcoming marriage to Gail is well and truly off the cards.
She learnt that he’d been deceitful with her son David (Jack P. Shepherd), collectively concealing money that was stolen from gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).
When Jesse asked about the wedding, Gail replied: ‘What wedding?’
Uh-oh.
We imagine she’ll be less than impressed to hear where he’s spent the night, but given her late ex-husband Richard Hillman (Brian Capron) has returned from beyond the grave, she might have bigger fish to fry!
Elsewhere, another couple gave knowing looks across the Rovers bar at Gail’s leaving do.
Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) are clearly harbouring feelings for one another, despite relationships with Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
This could end in tears!
When Daniel and Bethany arrived and kissed one another, Daisy couldn’t hide her fury.
