Emmerdale confirms huge death as legend is unexpectedly killed off
It’s the end of the road for Emmerdale’s Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) who, after suffering a heart attack on Christmas Day, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The character, a mainstay of the ITV soap for almost six years, gripped his chest and fell to the floor after Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) informed Kim (Claire King) all about her beloved beau’s plan to take her down.
History repeated as, much like she did with Frank Tate in 1997, Kim watched her husband writhe in pain, believing the whole thing to be nothing more than a panic attack.
Joe, however, informed her that Will was actually having a heart attack, which left the matriarch feeling guilty for failing to take action sooner as she swooped to her hubby’s side and phoned for an ambulance.
Following advice from the woman on the 999 call, Kim tried to keep Will awake. Will told her that he loved her and that he meant every word of his vows as he started to lose consciousness.
Kim fought tears as she performed CPR, desperately trying to save her husband’s life.
But it was too late. Will was dead, with the paramedics subsequently confirming such a thing in emotional scenes.
PC Swirling (Andy Moore) arrived at the scene to ask questions, with Joe jumping in to defend Kim, which took her by surprise as he lied to the policeman about what happened in the moments leading up to Will’s demise.
He claimed that he did so because Kim is family, stating that he no longer hates her for what she did to him all those years ago.
Kim remained sceptical but she didn’t have time to scratch that itch as she was too devastated following the death of her beloved Will.
Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) was on hand to offer support, as Dawn (Olivia Bromley), Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontlze) and Kim grieved together.
It really is the end of an era.
