Emmerdale’s Kim Tate apoplectic as she makes a staggering discovery
Kim Tate (Claire King) went back to Home farm in Monday (July 22)’s Emmerdale to collect her special pillows – because of course the B&B pillows wouldn’t be good enough for her. She’s been forced from her home by the actions of Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco), who has been doing a successful job of undermining Kim’s position in her family.
Kim had already taken the blame for bringing germs into the house which made baby Evan ill. The family are supposed to be keeping the environment as clean as possible for Evan, who is having treatment for leukaemia and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) had broken this by going out and getting drunk with Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).
Kim took the blame because she was worried that Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) might never forgive Billy.
It was Rose’s next move that really harmed Kim. We know that Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) is behind this plot against Kim and she arranged for Rose to get a drug that she would use to coerce Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) into a compromising position that would enrage Kim and destroy the marriage.
Unfortunately the drink that the drug was in got swapped and Dawn ended up drinking it, later crashing her car as a result. Former drug addict Dawn recognised the signs of what had happened and knew she’d been spiked – and Kim was her only suspect.
With Billy doing his best to defend Kim, it seemed like he was a lone voice as Will and Dawn seriously believed that Kim had taken the drastic measure to try to frame Rose – especially when Ruby sent the drug dealer to Home Farm to pretend he wanted money from Kim.
But, as well as Billy, Kim has another supporter at Home Farm – Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick).
With Rose acting like the lady of the manor in Kim’s absence, Lydia was doing her best to get on with the cleaning as usual and ignore her rudeness. But when Rose took a phone call – presumably from Ruby – and rudely dismissed Lydia from the room, Lydia was suspicious and turned on the baby monitor.
Elsewhere in the house, she listened to Rose reporting back that Kim had ‘left the building’ and the trust between her and Will was gone so their marriage would soon be over. ‘I reckon I deserve a bonus, don’t you?’ she said, as Lydia realised that everything Rose was doing was for money.
Lydia wasted no time in finding Kim and telling her what she knew. She told Kim that with this new information she could be back at Home Farm by the end of the day.
Kim, as we know, is a person who prefers to bide her time when it comes to dealing with her enemies. She said that they needed to sit tight and wait for Rose to trip herself up. Lydia was a bit worried about this and said that Rose was already making moves on Will.
Despite this, Kim is holding her nerve because she’s more interested in finding out who’s the person pulling Rose’s strings – and when she does, she’ll make sure they regret it.
And that particular showdown, when it finally comes, is going to be epic.
