Leanne Battersby’s Prison Fate Sealed After Life-Changing Mistake in Coronation Street
Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) is at serious risk of going to prison in Coronation Street after her revenge against Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) got out of hand.
After discovering their secret relationship, Leanne decided to teach her sister and ex-fiancé a lesson they wouldn’t forget, by framing them for theft.
Unfortunately, Leanne’s scheme unravelled and she was arrested for fraud when the truth about her antics came out.
Despite Leanne’s plot to see her sister behind bars, Toyah refused to see Leanne face a similar fate, and soon managed to get Nick on side.
Determined to save Leanne’s skin, Nick made a personal plea to DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) to drop the charges against Leanne.
It’s safe to say that Leanne and Toyah have history with DS Swain, after Toyah got away with murdering ex-husband Imran Habeeb.
With that in mind, it was no surprise that Lisa wasn’t impressed by Nick’s request, and was swift to point out that they could have avoided the whole sorry mess by just behaving like adults in the first place.
Even though Nick insisted that he would refuse to co-operate with the investigation, Lisa’s mind was made up.
Later, she found Leanne and smugly broke the news that she was being charged with fraud, and would need to take herself to the police station in the coming days.
When Leanne questioned if she was set to go to prison, DS Swain did nothing to quell her worries.
Furious at her situation, Leanne wasted no time in confronting Nick and Toyah, accusing them of making things worse for her.
Though Toyah tried to argue that they had been trying to stick up for her, Leanne refused to hear it.
Could she really be set to face jail?
