Lisa Swain Shocked by Carla Connor’s Explosive Confession in Coronation Street
DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) is left reeling in upcoming Coronation Street scenes when girlfriend Carla Connor (Alison King) makes a huge confession.
For several weeks, Carla and Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) have been keeping a monumental secret from the detective, but it is set to finally come out next week.
Viewers will know that Carla suffered a bleed on the brain after being attacked in the factory during a robbery organised by Betsy.
It didn’t take long for Carla to work out that the teenager was behind it, but she promised not to tell Lisa, who was already struggling after discovering new information relating to wife Becky’s death.
However, in upcoming scenes, Betsy comes clean about allowing Matty and Logan Radcliffe (Seamus McGoff and Harry Lowbridge) into the factory to rob the place.
As if that wasn’t enough, Lisa is horrified when Betsy reveals that Carla knew and kept quiet about it.
Lisa is quick to rush to the hospital, where Carla is being treated for sepsis, to confront her about her lies.
Carla is quick to apologise for keeping Betsy’s involvement a secret, but explains that she was just trying to protect Lisa.
Her admission makes Lisa soften, but will Betsy get away with what she’s done?
That isn’t the only shock the couple face next week, as Carla is informed that her kidney has been badly damaged by sepsis and she needs another transplant.
With the hunt on for a donor, Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) goes to visit dad Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) in prison and asks if he’d be willing to give a kidney to his sister.
Will Rob put the past behind him and help Carla in her time of need?
Carla and Lisa have already faced plenty of obstacles in their relationship, and Rob is set to be another, according to producer Kate Brooks.
‘It’s really exciting, and what I like about this story in particular is that Carla and Lisa are finally together and united, everyone knows about them and they’re moving on with their lives, and then this drops on them, and they’re like, “How did that happen? Are we not meant to be relaxing and enjoying being with each other?”
‘So, it’s a real test for their relationship in the early stages, but a good test.’
