Carla Connor suffers worrying health development after unexpected Lisa Swain setback in Coronation Street

Carla Connor’s (Alison King) health has taken a worrying turn in recent Coronation Street scenes, leaving girlfriend Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) concerned.
The couple’s New Year’s Eve didn’t quite go to plan, with Carla having woken up in a bad mood having previously learnt that Lisa had been called into work.
However, things soon turned around when Lisa managed to get the day off, and planned a surprise romantic date for the factory boss.
Unfortunately, their romantic meal was derailed when Lisa received a worrying message from a woman she had helped a year ago.
She explained to Carla that she had put away her abusive partner, but that he had been released from prison and was back on the estate the woman lived on.
When Lisa revealed that she was the only officer the woman trusted, Carla urged her to go and see her, insisting that their date could wait.
However, things later took a worrying turn when Carla bumped into DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), who revealed that the man in question was more likely to be gunning for Lisa than his ex.
As if on cue, Kit received an emergency call for back up at the same address Lisa had gone to visit, leaving Carla terrified.
Fortunately, Lisa soon returned home, though she wasn’t completely unscathed, sporting a bruised face and split lip.
Though Lisa assured her that she was fine, Carla couldn’t help worrying, wondering aloud how she was supposed to cope with the dangers of Lisa’s job.
Determined not to ruin the last day of 2024, Lisa suggested that they both go out, and soon the couple headed to the Rovers to ring in the New Year.
As they celebrated the beginning of a new chapter, Carla noted how she had never expected to fall in love with a copper, before bristling at her own choice of words.
Lisa appeared taken aback by Carla’s use of the L word, and when she failed to say it back, Carla made excuses to leave.
Lisa was quick to follow, but not before taking a dig from colleague Kit about how cold she’d been during the exchange.
Back at Carla’s flat, Lisa assured Carla that she was falling for her too, but that it was taking her longer to open up to her feelings because of what she’d been through with Becky.
With their relationship patched up, Carla’s health became a cause for concern when she suffered a dizzy spell.
In upcoming scenes, Carla is set to be hospitalised with sepsis, and will discover that she is in need of another kidney transplant.
Will she pull through?
