The latest episode of Coronation Street teased horror ahead for Ken Barlow once more, amid fears he’s about to be killed off.
Ken was once again seemingly drugged by his carer Cassie Plummer, weeks on from the shocking storyline kicking off. It’s clear Cassie is after Ken’s money, and is keen for him to fund a lavish lifestyle including holidays, shopping sprees and a trip to the ballet every now and again.
Cassie was almost caught out recently when she poisoned him after putting medication in his tea. Ken was rushed to hospital after it sparked a health scare, with it soon emerging he’d had too much of his medication.
Given his daughter Tracy had dropped Ken’s pill box containing his pills, and when picking them back up there’s a possibility she put them in the wrong place, she ended up getting the blame. Ken assumed Cassie was innocent, unaware of the horrifying truth.
Since then we’ve seen Cassie searching online for pills that cause drowsiness, before Tuesday night showed her putting something in his alcohol before giving it to him to drink. Later, we saw Ken feeling “fatigued” and he dozed off in his chair.

Cassie looked guilty, giving away she had once again drugged him after he commented about feeling tired and dizzy, commenting that he wouldn’t be able to stay awake to see in 2025. But with Cassie stepping up her plan, is there danger ahead?
Viewers have been fearing Ken could suffer another health scare and could be in serious danger. Some fear Ken might be killed off after decades on the show in a twist as Cassie continues to drug him.
It comes amid scenes hinting his granddaughter Amy Barlow will be the one to expose Cassie and spark her downfall. Amy was concerned when her grandfather told her everything this week, about him offering Cassie a temporary loan.
Amy did not buy Cassie’s story about having no money and looked suspicious, so might she rumble the horrifying truth? Corrie boss Kate Brooks has teased what’s ahead for the storyline, telling the Mirror Cassie would struggle with her deception.
Kate told us: “That will continue. Cassie is great to have with the Barlows, she causes such fun, and I love her relationship with Ken, which is just wonderful. There will be a lot more of that.
“The friendship is genuine and real, but Cassie has had a bad life. She’s had a terrible upbringing. She’s made mistakes in the past and it’s sometimes hard to shake off that persona. That’s what we’ll see with Cassie. She’ll be struggling with the good angel and the bad angel on her shoulder, and which way is she going to go?
“She does stir up a lot of trouble and a lot of bother, not just with the Barlows but within No.9 as well. So, Cassie and Ken, keep your eyes on them because it’s going to get good!”
