Coronation Street star Jessica Barden welcomes second child with surprise announcement
Former Coronation Street star Jessica Barden has revealed she has welcomed her second child.
The actress, who played Kayleigh Morton on the ITV soap between 2007 and 2008, made a low-key announcement on Instagram last month that she’d given birth.
Posting a series of images from some recent magazine photo shoots, Jessica joked: ‘I am late posting these insane images that I absolutely love and will cherish forever because I was giving birth to the child lol.’
Alongside the photoshoot pics, Jessica ended her Instagram carousel with a snap of herself in hospital cradling her newborn while sitting up in bed and being fed something to eat.
Jessica, who is also known for her role as Alyssa Foley in Channel 4 comedy-drama The End of the F***ing World, also commented that she was in her ‘mother of 2 era’ as she shared a selfie last week.
Jessica, 32, and her husband, director Max Winkler, welcomed their first child in October 2021, six months after they tied the knot.
Max is also the son of Happy Days’ legend Henry Winkler, who is known for his role as Fonzie in the 1970s US sitcom.
Jessica has most recently been seen in the HBO series Dune: Prophecy, which is a spin-off from the 2021 and 2024 films.
The actress recently opened up on Instagram about how filming the show changed how she saw her career.
Posting a series of behind-the-scenes photos from filming, the actress, who played a young Valya Harkonnen, wrote: ‘I nearly stopped acting so many times in the last 3 years because I felt so bad taking time away from my family, but this job was 100 percent worth it and made me absolutely want to stay in this career.
‘So I will never forget this job and what it taught me about handling work/family.’
