What happened to Abi’s murdered son Seb in Coronation Street as Mason dies?
Abi Webster (Sally Carman) was caught in a horrifying and triggering ordeal in Monday’s Coronation Street, when she was reminded about the death of her son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) while trying to save Mason Radcliffe’s (Luca Toolan) life.
Shock scenes on the ITV soap saw Mason stabbed with a zombie knife by his brothers Matty and Logan (Séamus McGoff and Harry Lowbridge) while protecting Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne), who had intervened to help his former bully.
Abi then found Mason bleeding out in the children’s play area and did her best to stem the flow of blood whilst shouting for help.
Mason later died in hospital, and the coming weeks will see his death have a huge impact on Abi, whose son Seb was killed in similar circumstances in 2021.
What happened to Abi Webster’s murdered son Seb Franklin in Coronation Street?
Seb and his girlfriend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) were attacked in a violent hate crime while out on a walk back in May 2021.
During their romantic stroll down at the canal, they crossed paths with Corey Brent (Maximus Evans), Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson), their mate Eli and other members of their gang.
Corey hurled abuse at Nina, branding her a ‘freak’ before Seb was kicked repeatedly.
While the young lad remained conscious long enough to call for an ambulance, he did not recover and later died in hospital.
In the devastating aftermath, Nina also experienced memory loss as a result of the trauma.
Despite a series of flashbacks revealing it was Corey who had kicked Seb to death, Kelly was wrongly sentenced for his murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
However, when Nina later regained her memory, she was able to remember what happened and who was involved.
Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows), who was homeless at the time, later found the bag containing Corey’s clothes from the night of the attack and handed it to the police, who quickly arrested and charged him.
