Lauren’s declaration over Joel’s death seals her fate in Coronation Street
Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) faces court in Coronation Street next week after killing Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
Towards the end of last year, a flashback sequence confirmed that Lauren attacked and killed evil solicitor Joel. Present when this happened was Lauren’s boyfriend Max (Paddy Bever), who helped Lauren throw Joel’s body over a bridge.
Despite Max attempting to take the fall for her, Lauren was arrested by the police and taken into custody, leaving little Frankie without a mum and dad.
Coming up, Roy (David Neilson) takes to the stand and tells the court Lauren is a kind and caring person. He is interrupted by a lady called Brie, who claims Lauren attacked her in prison.
The chaotic situation continues when Lauren’s barrister explains that Frankie has been taken to hospital. Upset that she’s stuck in court, Lauren tells the prosecution barrister during Max’s cross examination that she’s glad Joel is dead.
In the week, after learning that Frankie is fighting an infection, Lauren regrets losing her temper and tells Max that she doesn’t care about the trial, and the only thing that matters is Frankie’s health improving.
While Lauren keeps vigil by Frankie’s hospital bed, the barristers deliver their closing statements to the jury while in court.
When Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) calls and tells Lauren that the jury can’t reach an agreement, she starts to fear it’s a bad sign.
Back in court, Lauren arrives, ready to hear her verdict.
But what will it be?
