Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) has got her sights set on Ken Barlow’s (William Roache) savings in Coronation Street, but her sinister plan may soon be uncovered.
She has already roused suspicion for Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), but so far Ken is none the wiser to her troublesome antics.
It all started when the Barlows employed Cassie as Ken’s carer, and the pair got on better than anyone expected.
However, after his health improved, Ken reviewed his finances and decided that he needed to let Cassie go.
Not wanting to lose her only source of income, Cassie began drugging Ken to keep him ill, making him rely on her care.
Viewers will know that Cassie has been slipping antihistamines into Ken’s drinks, and in last night’s episode she was caught red-handed by none other than Bertie Osbourne (Rufus Morgan-Smith).
However, when Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) confronted her about it, she was quick to turn the tables and threaten to reveal Daisy Midgeley’s (Charlotte Jordan) pregnancy secret if he told.
Daisy is currently expecting her first child, and there is every possibility that it could be Daniel’s, given that the pair slept together behind Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) back last year.
When Cassie overheard the pair’s clandestine meeting discussing the situation, she knew she could use it to her advantage.
In upcoming scenes, Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) and Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) are confused to find Cassie milling around at No.1 while Ken is out.
Cassie covers by explaining that she was cleaning Ken’s room, but it becomes clear that there was more to it than that when she later pulls out Ken’s credit card.
Unaware that Cassie has nabbed Ken’s card before covertly replacing it, Daniel warns Ken that Cassie can’t be trusted, before informing him that Bertie watched her slip something into his drink and warned him to keep quiet.
As Ken confronts Cassie over the allegations, will she manage to worm her way out of it once more, or is it the end of the road for her?
