Terror for the Platts in shooting horror as sinister revenge is taken in Coronation Street
This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX.
The Platts were left fearing for their lives in recent Coronation Street scenes as notorious gangster Harvey Gaskell stepped up his campaign of terror against them.
Ever since David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) stole a large sum of money from the criminal, he has had a target on his back.
Now, things have gone even further, with Harvey’s cronies targeting the wider Platt family, with no sign of the torment letting up until all of the money is repaid.
In tonight’s episode, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) was left traumatised when she was bundled into the back of a van and tied up by Harvey’s associates.
It wasn’t until David learnt that Shona hadn’t turned up for work that he realised something was wrong, and with David the dog having already been run over, he reasoned it was time to get the police involved.
After coming clean to DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) about how he’d stolen Harvey’s money to buy his house, he was then forced to reveal all to Max Turner (Paddy Bever) and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), who were completely horrified.
Thankfully, Shona soon returned relatively unscathed, revealing to her concerned family that Harvey’s associates had succeeded in scaring her.
When Kit later called round, Shona failed to mask her anger at David for getting the police involved, before insisting to Kit that her abduction had been a case of mistaken identity, and nothing to do with Harvey at all.
With Kit gone, Shona, Max and David continued to argue over David’s decision to report Harvey, with Shona worried that he’d put an even bigger target on their backs.

She was quickly proved right when the bullet from an airgun came flying through the window, narrowly missing the feuding family.
No longer safe in their own home, Shona and the kids took refuge at Sarah’s flat.
However, David determined that he would be putting them in danger by staying with them, and decided to find somewhere else.
Will the Platts be safe with David gone, or will Harvey continue to target them?
