Coronation Street’s Steve overwhelmed with guilt over Amy’s horrific ordeal that’s his fault
Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is filled with guilt in Coronation Street next week after his actions leave daughter Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) navigating a horrific ordeal.
On Wednesday, Amy headed to a party and was horrified when she arrived and came face-to-face with Eric Sandford (Craig Cheetham), the father of her rapist Aaron Sandford (James Craven).
As fans of the ITV soap will remember, Amy took centre stage in a big consent storyline back in 2023, when Aaron raped her following a night out.
In the aftermath, Aaron refused to believe he was responsible for the crime and maintained that Amy wanted to have sex just as much as him.
Aaron eventually realised what he had done when he reflected on the evening in question, but the character then departed Weatherfield with abusive dad Eric without facing justice for his crime.
Next Monday’s episode sees Amy’s mum Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) in a state of worry when she can’t get hold of her, and Steve reasons she must have spent the night at the party.
When Amy eventually returns home, she explains to her parents that she left several messages but her phone died, lost her car keys and spent the night wandering the streets.
Steve is riddled with guilt and lies, making out he had an early night…
However, we already know exactly what Steve was up to.
Having spent the evening with ex Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) reminiscing over a bottle of wine, things soon turned romantic when she leant in for a kiss and he passionately responded.
They then headed to the bedroom to have sex – neither of them noticing the five missed calls from Amy on his phone.
