First look at Coronation Street newcomers who will become neighbours from hell
Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) are about to get a huge surprise in Coronation Street – and it’s not going to be a good one.
Previously, producer of the show Kate Brooks confirmed two new characters would be arriving in Weatherfield soon. They are called Mick and Lou, and will live behind Gemma, Chesney and their children.
Gemma and Chesney’s 2025 got off to a positive start when Chesney was sent compensation money following the death of Les. The cash allowed the couple to pay off their bills, something they thought would never be possible.
In upcoming episodes, Gemma watches Lou give Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) a hard time over the price of a pack of night-time pull ups. As Lou makes eye contact, she realises Gemma is one of the mums from Bessie Street primary.
Later that day, Lou calls in at the pub and persuades Gemma to join her for a drink.
In the week, after convincing himself that he’s spotted the silver van again from a few weeks ago, Chesney learns from Gemma that Lou and Mick are moving into Mawdsley Street and she’s arranged for them to meet for a drink.
Is this the start of a new friendship for Gemma and Chesney?
And what connection do they share with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts)?
Discussing their arrival, Kate said: ‘We’ve got some great characters coming in! They are Mick and Lou. They’re coming to live at the back of Chesney, on Maudsley Street, across the ginnell. They are livewires, they are ruffians, they are going to cause a lot of damage and a lot of chaos.
‘There is a link to Chesney initially, but they are coming to stir up a lot of trouble, and open up the floodgates and unpack the past of one of our big characters, which is Kit.
‘They are shaking things up. They’re neighbours from hell! I wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of them – especially Mick! They are coming to cause some chaos on the street, and they will leave a trail of devastation…
