Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) makes a desperate attempt to convince fiancée Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) to stay in Coronation Street next week.

Last month, Bethany was offered a dream job offer working for a flashy magazine – but it would mean relocating to London.

Overjoyed, she mentioned the job to Daniel on the understanding that he’d jump straight on board and grasp the opportunity to move away from Weatherfield with both hands.

Unfortunately he was less than impressed and had already assumed she’d turned it down.

As bold as brass, Bethany didn’t take ‘no’ for an answer and accepted the position, telling him that she’d found a cheap flat with a short lease that they could rent on a trial basis.

If he and young son Bertie didn’t like it, they could return home.

If anything, this convinced Daniel that his heart was still with ex-fiancé Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), who he has been harbouring feelings towards for months.

The pair even enjoyed a one night stand, which resulted in her falling pregnant – and she wasn’t sure whether the baby was his, or Kit Green’s (Jacob Roberts).

After telling both men that they could be the father, she exposed the secret for all to hear in a shocking Rovers confrontation. During the pub quiz, she took to the microphone to ask punters what the probability of each man being the baby daddy was.

Yikes.

Bethany was mortified and stormed out, later packing her bags and moving in with her mum.

When the DNA test results arrived, Daisy shocked step-mum Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) by telling her she’d deleted them and didn’t want Daniel or Kit to play a part in her child’s life.

In scenes that air this week, the Platt family home goes up in flames. This could just be another sign for Bethany to move on in life.

However, she won’t be able to step off the cobbles before Daniel’s had one last attempt to convince her she’s making a huge mistake.
With his life as he knows it falling from beneath his feet, he calls at Sarah’s (Tina O’Brien) flat in the hope he can persuade Bethany not to leave.

What will she say?

We know it’s likely that she will eventually go – as actress Lucy Fallon took maternity leave and announced the birth of her second child, daughter Nancy Margaret, on 14th January.

Will Daniel turn back to Daisy in his hour of need?
