Coronation Street’s Debbie in shock by Abi’s state as she puts herself in danger
Coronation Street’s Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) comes to the rescue of sister-in-law Abi Webster (Sally Carman) after she finds her in danger this week.
Abi has been suffering with PTSD after Mason Radcliffe’s (Luca Toolan) death triggered memories about the death of her son Seb Franklin (Harry Vsinoni) who was killed in similarly violent circumstances back in 2021.
As a result, she has been experiencing traumatic flashbacks and visions of her late son’s final moments.
The character is currently missing after fans saw her run away from Weatherfield on Friday, having left Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) for dead after a heated argument.
She then worried that she could have been responsible for the fire at the Platts’ house, and did a runner with young son Alfie.
However, spoilers for this week have confirmed that Abi is not missing for long, but when she returns home, her mental health is still very fragile.
In forthcoming scenes, Debbie comes to Abi’s rescue after letting herself into No. 9 to find something burning in the oven and the smoke alarm going off.
With Abi suffering a panic attack, Debbie is there just in time to stop things from escalating.
Abi is still in a bad way later in the week after husband Kevin Webster’s (Michael Le Vell) latest cancer results.
She plans to cook a Valentine’s Day meal for them, but when Debbie finds her panicking again, she has an idea.
She said: ‘[Abi] and Debbie have a brilliant relationship, because they can be the closest, closest friends and really love each other, and then they can be best of enemies.
‘It’s a constant fight, and I love it, but I think when it really boils down to it there’s more moments of togetherness than opposition, certainly with what Kevin’s going through, but… her mind is not in the right place.’
