Coronation Street pulled from ITV again amid more schedule changes
Coronation Street fans face more viewing disruption next week with ITV shaking up the schedule again.
The soap has been subject to many changes in recent weeks in order to accommodate live sports matches.
This will continue next week as ITV airs coverage of the UEFA Women’s Nations League on Friday evening.
As such, next Friday’s Coronation Street has been pulled from the schedules as England’s Lionesses take on Portugal’s women’s team in the championship.
However, Corrie fans will not miss out on any of the Weatherfield action, as the soap will still air three one-hour episodes next week.
Instead, they will air on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 8pm on ITV1.
Episodes will also be available to stream each day from 7am on ITVX.
It’s set to be another dramatic week on the cobbles as Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) is attacked and left for dead after his prison escape.
And in a shock twist, it is looking very much like stickler-for-the-rules-DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) could be the one to blame…
Earlier this month, it was announced big changes are coming to both Coronation Street and fellow ITV soap Emmerdale next year.
Each soap will revert to 30-minute episodes that will air from 8pm each weeknight, effectively cutting an episode each per week.
ITV bosses said the decision was made following audience research into viewing patterns, with the new scheduling pattern forming what execs are calling a ‘soap power hour’.
