Coronation Street’s Yasmeen Metcalfe looks set for a low-key exit from the soap following Shelley King’s decision to quit the ITV soap.

Earlier this year, it was revealed Shelley would be leaving her role after 10 years on the cobbles.

And now spoilers for next week’s episodes have revealed the first look at her final storyline.

It kicks off with Yasmeen’s granddaughter Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) going through some major issues at work.

When her legal firm Fabian’s try to force her to take on a coercive control case, she quits in frustration.

However, Alya is stunned when they bill her for her training and asks Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) for her old job back.

After she gets an answer from Adam, Alya is then stunned when Yasmeen announces she’s been offered a job working for a charity in London and wants to sell her share in Speed Daal.

Viewers will have to wait and see how Alya reacts, but it looks like hopes Yasmeen would reunite with her ex Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) will be thwarted by her new job offer.

Stu left the Street last October to accept a new gig in Germany, and upon hearing the news Shelley had quit the show, many fans hoped Yasmeen’s exit would see her jet off to join him.

Shelley filmed her final scenes in December, with an insider telling Metro: ‘Shelley spoke to producers early last year and advised that after 10 years on the show and being involved in many major storylines during the past decade she had decided the time has come for her to explore other opportunities.

‘Shelley is an accomplished stage and television actress and we fully understand her desire to take her career in another direction after 10 years playing the same role.’

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday 7 March at 8pm on ITV1 or stream first from 7am on ITVX.
