Coronation Street’s Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) has had a tough start to 2025.

The Weatherfield mechanic has been deeply worried about his wife Abi Webster (Sally Carman) as she continues struggle with PTSD following Mason Radcliffe’s (Luca Toolan) murder.

To add to this, he has also had health issues of his own and was recently given the devastating news he has cancer.

After undergoing surgery last month, things get on top of Kevin next week when he picks up on a vibe between Abi and his sister Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) partner Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).

In Sunday’s episode, fans will see Abi open up to Ronnie about her therapy sessions. But when Kevin spots them laughing together, he turns around and leaves.

The following day, Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) tells husband Tim (Joe Duttine) that she’s Kevin, Abi, Debbie and Ronnie round for dinner so that they can smooth things over following Kevin’s recent outburst at Tim.

But when Kevin believes Ronnie is flirting with Abi his mood quickly darkens.

Is he right to be concerned?

Actress Sally Carman, who plays Abi, did recently confirm her character will soon cheat on Kevin.

Speaking to Inside Soap, she said: ‘As an actor, brilliant! I thought, “Would Abi do that?” and actually, yes, she is a bit of a wildcard. The pull and temptation is just too much for her, and it reminds Abi of being young.

‘There’s been a lot of sadness and loss in her life, and this may serve as a distraction from that. It’s too irresistible for her.’

However, she ruled out her real-life husband Joe Duttine, who plays Tim, being Abi’s new love interest.

She sadi: ‘I can tell you, [it] is definitely not him!

‘If they ever suggested it, I’d be saying ‘Good grief, no. That would be a nightmare!’

Could Ronnie turn out to be Abi’s new mystery man?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Sunday and Monday at 8pm on ITV1 or stream first from 7am on ITVX.
