Coronation Street death ‘confirmed’ for Daisy and baby in horrific accident
There are death fears for a departing Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) in Coronation Street this week.
It was recently confirmed that actress Charlotte Jordan is one of several stars set to leave the ITV soap this year.
And dramatic scenes to air on Wednesday see Daisy and David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) left for dead in a hit-and-run accident, sparking concerns the pregnant character could meet a tragic end.
Daisy finds herself in harm’s way just as pressure is mounting on her to reveal the truth about her unborn baby’s paternity.

As fans of the ITV soap know, Daisy recently found out that Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is the father, but has gone along with the well-intentioned lie her stepmum Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) told Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) that he is the dad.
This week, Kit takes Daniel to one side and suggests that he should ask Daisy for proof that the baby is actually his, as Jenny watches on squirming.
Daniel then confronts Daisy and demands that she swear on the baby’s life that he’s the father, but she dashes out of the pub.

Meanwhile, having been knocking back vodka at lunchtime, a drunken David stumbles into the road when suddenly Daisy appears and a speeding car ploughs into them both.
Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) rushes to tend to husband David, who is quickly bleeding to death, as Jenny and Daniel rush to Daisy’s side and beg her to wake up, worried for her and the baby.
Things are still very much touch and go as we return to Weatherfield on Friday, with the locals praying for Daisy, the baby and David – but will they all pull through?

Announcing her decision to quit Coronation Street earlier this year, actress Charlotte said in a statement: ‘After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.
‘It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much.’
Coronation Street airs these scenes from Wednesday 5 March at 8pm on ITV1 or stream first from 7am on ITVX.
