Coronation Street confirms David’s fate after hit and run – and there’s more to come
David Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd) life was left hanging in the balance in Coronation Street earlier this week after he was knocked down in a brutal hit and run that he’d organised himself.
In tonight’s episode, his fate was confirmed when he woke up in hospital, surrounded by his family.
However, things would soon get complicated as Nick Tilsey (Ben Price) and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) revealed that they knew he was behind the accident.
Though they decided not to let Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) in on the secret, it didn’t take long for her to find out – especially when DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) came sniffing round and asking questions.
She was left horrified when David admitted that it had been his idea, in order to use his life insurance to pay back Harvey Gaskell.
Having heard from Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) that Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) had stolen the money Stephen Reid had taken from Carla Connor (Alison King), Shona came up with a plan of her own.
She confronted Daisy about the money, revealing that she needed £40,000 and knew she had the cash.
She strengthened her position by revealing that she would tell the police about how Daisy had knocked Shona down after stealing Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) car earlier this year if she didn’t transfer the money.

However, when Daisy asked her not to do this to her, explaining that she’d just lost her baby, Shona was horrified and rushed out.
Fortunately for her, Daisy wasn’t willing to risk the police getting involved, and agreed to transfer the money to Shona.
Will this solve David’s financial woes, or will he still find himself owing Harvey?
