Coronation Street ‘confirms’ David exit story – and it’s not by death
David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) was feeling consumed with guilt in last night’s episode of Coronation Street as he faced Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) after a car collision.
Last week, David organised for a car crash to happen that would’ve killed him. His plant went awry due to Daisy, who happened to drop her shopping just as the vehicle approached her and David.
He shoved Daisy out of the way but still got hit himself. In the hospital, while David survived, Daisy received devastating news that her baby was no longer alive.
In last night’s episode, David was still at hospital. Outside with Shona (Julia Goulding), he was taken aback when she confirmed the money Harvey has been asking for has now been dealt with.
At first, Shona took the approach of not telling David where the money came from, but Daniel (Rob Mallard) then walked past them both and told David the truth.
The cash had come from Daisy which made David feel pretty bad but to make him feel even worse, he then learnt Daisy had lost her baby as a result of the crash.
Meanwhile, at home, Daisy was struggling to know how to move forward after a life-changing few days.
She headed to the hospital to see David, with the intention of thanking him for pushing her out of the way of the car. At this point, Daisy had no idea that the crash was all orchestrated by David.
Once he confessed, Daisy’s view of him changed within seconds.
Back in Weatherfield, Daisy threw everyone out of the pub and got drunk.

As Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) departed, she decided to inform Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) of what was going on with Daisy.
Before Jenny returned, Shona visited Daisy and implored her to not do anything about David’s criminal activity and the crash. They were interrupted by Jenny, who reminded Shona that Daisy didn’t need more stress in her life.
Jenny sat down and reminded Daisy that she could do whatever she wanted regarding David, and shouldn’t let Shona’s apparent guilt trip impact her decision.
Focusing on David’s family issues wasn’t a priority for Daisy, as she then set about confronting Jenny after learning she made a pass at Kit (Jacob Roberts).
Daisy told Jenny that if she hadn’t cooked up the lie regarding her pregnancy and Daniel, she wouldn’t have rushed out of the pub last week and therefore, wouldn’t have got hit by a car.
Daisy outright told Jenny that she is the reason her baby is dead, and she’ll never forgive her.
Ouch.
