Coronation Street death twist in early ITVX release – as character is left in shock

Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) was met with a huge shock when he arrived at work in tonight’s Coronation Street, and it’s safe to say that he wasn’t impressed.
The undertaker started the day in a low mood after his previous encounter with Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), but things seemed to take a more positive turn when he bumped into the scaffolder on his lunch break.
Theo was quick to apologise for the previous night, explaining that he needed some more time to come to terms with his sexuality because he wanted to keep seeing Todd.
This brightened Todd’s mood tenfold, as they headed back to the house so that Theo could make it up to him.
Their making up session left Todd late back to work from his lunch break, but he was certainly in better spirits – though that was all about to come crashing down.
George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) instantly switched into work mode when a distressed woman arrived, wanting to organise her mother’s funeral.
With the woman so distraught, George asked if there was anyone who could sit in on their meeting with her, so she agreed to call her husband.
It was then that Todd discovered the big secret Theo had been keeping, when he arrived to comfort his wife, Danielle (Natalie Anderson).
Todd was completely floored, but managed to maintain a professional exterior as he seethed underneath.
When George took Danielle into another room to discuss the styles of coffins on offer, Theo hung back, and Todd made his feelings clear.
Later, a disappointed Todd confided in Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), who advised him to ditch Theo until he’d been honest with his wife, unless he was happy being his bit on the side.
Their conversation was interrupted by Theo himself, who had come round to explain himself.
He revealed to Todd that he had been married to Danielle for 19 years, but had had feelings for men that he’d never acted on since he was a teenager.
Theo asked Todd not to tell Danielle what had gone on between them, and Todd promised that the secret was safe.
Will they carry on seeing each other behind her back, or will Todd listen to Billy’s advice?
