Coronation Street legend ‘can’t believe it’ as brother wins Come Dine With Me with her recipes

Coronation Street star Sally Ann Matthews has revealed her disbelief after her brother Tim appeared on Come Dine With Me.
The actress has been a firm favourite on the ITV soap for decades, having first appeared in 1986.
After a prolonged absence, her character Jenny Connor returned in 2015 and is currently the landlady of the Rovers Return – or at least is for the time being!
Carla Connor (Alison King) is on a mission to sell the pub, as she’s waited long enough for Jenny and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) to pay back the money they stole from her.
The mother and step-daughter took a whopping £250,000 of Carla’s money, after tracking down the funds that serial killer Stephen Reid had taken from Underworld, before using it to buy back the Rovers.
Carla was beyond furious when she found out, and Jenny and Daisy agreed to pay her back in installments.
Their plan was derailed when Carla required another kidney transplant and needed the money back, quick. As they couldn’t cough up, she borrowed the cash from borrowed the money from Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) instead.
In upcoming scenes, it’s time for her to pay Betsy back, and Jenny isn’t happy.

Away from her cobbles drama, Sally Ann’s brother has briefly stepped into the spotlight for an appearance in Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me.
If you haven’t seen the hit reality show, it follows four strangers who put on a three-course meal for one another over the course of a week.
At the end of each evening, they have to score one the host’s food and entertainment out of 10.
The person with the highest score wins some cash at the end of the week, and at the end of March, it was Sal’s brother Tim who tied with fellow diner Amanda.
‘It’s been two years and I still don’t know if my brother won #comedinewithme. Finale time! x’ she wrote to her 86,000 followers.
She later said she was a ‘proud sister’ and that the contestants ‘still meet up two years on.’

When one fan noted the good scores Tim received, Sally Ann replied: ‘I can’t believe it !! My recipes though.’
During one episode, he teased his famous family member, revealing that they were a ‘red head who pulls pints on ITV’.
Fiona, who also cooked up some grub on the hit telly show, was gobsmacked when she realised that his sister was ‘Jenny from Coronation Street.’
Sally Ann has recently taken on a new project of her own – touring Canada with co-star Charlotte Jordan in a new show to celebrate 65 years of The Street.
In a video released on Facebook, the stars were stood behind the bar of the Rovers Return as they announced the events.
‘Hi Canada, guess what? We’re coming out to see you! We’re coming to Canada to help celebrate Corrie’s 65th anniversary with you guys,’ beamed Sally Ann.

Charlotte continued: ‘We can’t wait to meet you all, and we can’t wait to tell you about all of the gossip that we hear, and here in the Rovers, we hear it all!’
‘It’s time to let our hair down, have a night out with all of you guys, and just have a good natter. 65 years, can you imagine?’ continued Sally Ann, to which Charlotte chirped: ‘No. I’ve not been here that long.’
Sally Ann joked: ‘No, you haven’t, but you did make an impression when you were!’
This comes after Charlotte filmed her final scenes, which are due to air later in the Spring.
