Coronation Street’s Todd gets the shock of his life over Theo that changes everything
Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) blossoming romance with scaffolder Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) is set to hit a massive stumbling block in Coronation Street this week when he makes a game-changing discovery.
Things have been pretty quiet in the romance department for Todd in recent months, but that all changed when Theo – quite literally – crashed into his life.
The pair had been enjoying getting to know each other, but last week, Todd was floored when Theo admitted he is in a 19-year marriage to a woman.
Theo explained that he has known all his life that he’s gay, but his wife Danielle (Natalie Anderson) cannot find out, with Todd reluctantly agreeing to keep quiet.
However, Todd is set for an even bigger shock this week when he discovers Theo and his wife have a teenage son and daughter.
Forthcoming scenes will see Theo try to explain the situation and why he keeps blowing hot and cold.
Whatever Theo says, his words seem to do the trick, as later in the week, he and Todd are back to sneaking around together.
But things get complicated on Friday when Theo’s wife Danielle bumps into Todd in the Bistro with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).
Sarah is waiting to go on a date with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), but Theo has led Danielle to believe that Todd and Sarah are a couple. So, when Danielle sees them together, Todd invites her to join them and forces Sarah to play along.
As Theo then arrives for a meal with his wife, Danielle insists they join Todd and Sarah at their table.
Seizing an opportunity to wind Theo up, Todd then plants a kiss on a stunned Sarah – who he did actually date back in the early 2000s before coming out as gay.
But their kiss could have unintended consequences for Sarah’s romance with Kit as he witnesses the whole thing from the bar, leaving her with some explaining to do…
