Baby rushed to hospital as panic erupts in Coronation Street

Panic is set to erupt in Coronation Street next week when a baby is rushed to hospital.
The Bailey family have had a tumultuous few weeks since the birth of baby Laila, from Dee-Dee’s (Channique Sterling-Brown) surgery to Danny’s car accident.
Dee-Dee was rushed to hospital when her waters broke, and was left waiting in A&E in agony.
By the time she was seen by a doctor, he explained that she had preeclampsia and needed to have an emergency caesarean section to get the baby out right away.
Though baby Laila was perfectly healthy, poor Dee-Dee was in a bad way, and ended up having to have an emergency hysterectomy after suffering a haemorrhage.
What happens to Laila?
In upcoming scenes, things are set to continue on a downward spiral when Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) discovers that Laila has a temperature.
She tells Roy that she’s going to take her to the doctors, and concerned Dee-Dee decides to go with them.
The doctors run tests and are able to bring down her temperature, much to everyone’s relief.
Debbie blames herself
However, Debbie later notices that the milk she gave Laila is for three to six month olds.
Poor Debbie panics as she fears that it was her fault Laila got ill.

Viewers will know that Debbie was recently told she may have young-onset dementia, which left her utterly devastated.
A series of seemingly unrelated incidents led her to the doctor’s office, though she was convinced that everything that had happened, like misplacing her purse and her increased temper, were a result of the menopause.
However, the doctor confirmed that her hormone levels were in the correct range, and instead referred her for more tests with a neurologist.
So far, she has tried to keep her illness a secret from her family, but could her mistake with Laila make them suspect that something isn’t right?
