Heartbreak as major Coronation Street character set to exit just weeks after return
Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) has been injecting some much-needed vim into Coronation Street since her return to the cobbles last month – but as quickly as she reappeared, it looks like she’s set to depart once more.
The iconic character swapped the grey skies of Weatherfield for the sun-drenched shores of Spain earlier this year when she jetted off with new lover Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn).
Tracy made an unexpected return home a few weeks ago, as her daughter Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) was pulled further and further into the cult group The Institute.
She has seen her fair share of drama since her return, attacking Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper) after he conned Amy out of £40,000 from her inheritance from late grandmother Deirdre Barlow (Anne Kirkbride)
However, during this time, Tracy has batted off suggestions she’s home because her relationship has gone pair-shaped, insisting she is just back for a family visit.
There looks to be more going on than Tracy has revealed though, as she contemplates her future next week after receiving a voice message from Tommy.
In it, he pleads with Tracy to come back and tells her how much he misses her, and she turns to Amy for advice.
With Rowan’s downfall also on the horizon next week, will Amy be able to cope without her mum, or will she beg her to stay?
