Toyah and Nick caught in passionate embrace in dramatic Coronation Street twist
Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) give into their developing chemistry again in Coronation Street soon.
The storyline, which fans predicted a number of weeks ago, kicked off in Monday’s (June 10) edition of the ITV soap after Toyah found herself in Nick’s arms, with the two sharing a passionate kiss.
Nick, as viewers know, is the fiancé and longtime love of Toyah’s sister Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), who is currently being manipulated and gaslit by cult leader Rowan (Emrhys Cooper), who has played a pivotal role in driving Nick and Toyah together.
Leanne refused to keep Rowan and his organisation The Institute at arms length, storming out of the flat after Nick issued her with an ultimatum.
Toyah was on hand on to offer comfort to upset Nick in the wake of her sister’s departure, with one thing leading to another!
In upcoming episodes, Toyah is feeling overwhelmed with emotion on the day of Rose’s funeral. Outside the undertakers, she realises Rowan is watching from Victoria Garden so she races over, gives him a shove and says he isn’t welcome.
When the funeral ends, Leanne admits that she doesn’t actually have any savings and Rowan paid for the funeral, not her.
Back at home, Toyah finds Nick by himself. They talk and eventually, Nick takes Toyah in his arms and they kiss passionately. However, as this happens, Nick and Toyah remain unaware that from the derelict builder’s yard, a man is watching them intently.
Having enjoyed an afternoon of sex, Nick and Toyah agree that it mustn’t happen again and they should stay out of each other’s way as much as possible.
But will this be the case?
‘It’s really confusing for Toyah,’ admitted actress Georgia Taylor. ‘Nick is to all intents and purposes her brother-in-law and they haven’t always got on, so it’s not like she’s been harbouring some secret attraction.
‘So this has hit her out of the blue. They’ve both been there for each other these last few weeks when life has been really tough and those feelings are starting to get a little bit blurred.’
‘Toyah loves her sister but every time she feels guilty for leaning on Nick, Leanne does something to push her away again. It’s difficult when you’re angry at someone, but you also feel guilty for something you’ve done to them.
‘It’s very conflicting for Toyah.’
