Death is the subject of much discussion in Coronation Street next week, as confirmed in my new picture gallery, with one character laid to rest while another is thought to have taken his own life.
Having received a voicemail from Joel Deering (Calum Lill), Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) plays it aloud to DS Swain (Vicky Myers), who believes it to be a suicide note.
Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is able to pinpoint Joel’s last-known whereabouts using his phone signal, locating the abuser’s car parked on a nearby bridge. With Swain by his side, Kit takes a closer look at the vehicle and discovers a folded note on the dashboard.
Back on the Street, Swain is forced to break the news that they are now looking for a body.
Is Joel really dead? Or, as Dee-Dee suspects, is he still alive?
Elsewhere on the cobbles, the residents of Weatherfield pay tribute to Paul Foreman (Peter Ash).
Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) conducts the service and he is horrified at the church to find a drunk Denny, ordering him to leave.
Later, a rave gets underway on the Street in Paul’s memory – and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) reveals her out of this world resting place for her son’s ashes.
Literally.
Coronation Street lines up another dramatic week, with big bombshells and shocking revelations (Picture: ITV)
Carla Connor (Alison King), meanwhile, receives quite a shock when Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) drops off a letter and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) demands that the Turkish hospital pay for Bethany’s (Lucy Fallon) medical bills.
It’s going to be quite a week on the Street!
Coronation Street airs these scenes between Monday, September 30 and Friday, October 4 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
