Spoilers for a new Coronation Street plot may have given away a major twist – unless of course it’s all a red herring.
A new whodunnit looms as villain Joel Deering is confirmed to have died next week, with his body found in a river. But tests soon confirm Joel has been murdered, with him killed before he entered the water.
Soon a cause of death and a murder weapon are decided on, as well as a date of death. As the police begin to investigate the crime a number of residents are interviewed.
But one key spoiler could give away who is to blame for Joel’s demise. Just last week he went missing after abandoning his car and leaving what the police believed was a suicide note.
His ex Dee-Dee Bailey refused to believe the police’s verdict that he had taken his own life, with her convinced Joel was instead on the run. It will no doubt be a shock for her next week when his death is confirmed – or will it?
After all fans believe her recent behaviour could suggest she was involved in his death, with DS Swain also convincing fans she is involved. But according to spoilers, neither of the women are to blame.
In fact it could be someone rather unexpected, and a character many viewers have long believed to be secretly linked to Joel. If the spoilers are anything to go by this will be proven right, and his killer may have been let slip.
While spoilers tease several characters are questioned over their whereabouts on the night Joel died, there’s a lot of focus on Dee-Dee’s uncle Ronnie. It emerges he was waiting outside Joel’s house the day he vanished, so is he involved?
It isn’t Ronnie the spoilers hint at being the killer though, as one other character just so happens to possess an item believed to be the murder weapon. Troubled teen Mason Radcliffe is teased to be guilty next week when he’s revealed to be hiding a crowbar.
Just as the police state the weapon used to attack and kill Joel is a crowbar, we see Mason acting oddly and trying to hide the same tool. Of course there is nothing to suggest it is the murder weapon or that Mason was the one that used it if it is the weapon itself.
It could all be a major red herring, but what if it’s a double bluff? Fans have long been convinced Mason and Joel are linked, so is this true and has Mason taken a bloody revenge? Is he now trying to get rid of the murder weapon, and have the spoilers let slip the real killer from the off?
