With evil Joel Deering (Calum Lill) having been murdered, the hunt is on for his killer in Coronation Street next week.
And as our spoiler video reveals, the police make their first major breakthrough when it is confirmed how the abuser met his end.
In this scene from Wednesday’s episode, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) – who has been taken off the case – manages to extract from Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) that Joel’s postmortem results are back.
While she has to weasel details out of him, he then reveals that Joel died from two blows to the head, inflicted by a heavy weapon.
He states that the weapon was most likely a crowbar, used to break into his flat.

Later in the episode, Lisa gets a lead when she learns from Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) that she threw Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) out because she’d found he had a crowbar.
She later warns daughter Besty Swain (Sydney Martin) to stay away from Mason, but she warns her friend that the police are on to him.
Behind the factory, Mason disposes of the crowbar in a bin but is caught in the act by Kit…
Could Mason really have killed Joel?
Actor Jacob Roberts, who plays Kit, recently revealed: ‘Kit’s priority is to get down to the bottom of who killed Joel. ‘He knows someone is lying, everyone is acting shifty on the street and there’s a few potential culprits.
‘Lisa, who is now off the case, puts it into Kit’s head that Mason could be the suspect because he had a crowbar, which makes Kit’s eyes light up.
‘When he visits Mason, he finds him with a crowbar and Kit brings him in for questioning, but I think this is just the beginning…’
