More trauma as Coronation Street confirms upcoming funeral
There’s an emotional week ahead for some of the Coronation Street residents as Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) funeral takes place.
Joel’s crimes have had a huge impact on countless Weatherfield locals, who have been attempting to pick up the pieces of their lives in the aftermath of his death.
With Joel having gone missing at the end of September, it wasn’t long before his body was found and the post-mortem revealed that he had been murdered.
Now, half of the street are in the frame for his murder, which makes moving on difficult.
Next week, Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) and Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) continue to support each other in the wake of recent events.
Lauren is touched when Dee-Dee offers her and baby Frankie a place to stay, and buys her flowers as a thank you.
When Lauren’s social worker calls at the flat, Dee-Dee offers to make her a cup of tea, but when she finds an old love note from Joel and grows upset, it is clear she is still feeling the effects of his actions.

Meanwhile, Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) arrives at Max Turner’s (Paddy Bever) and is shocked to find Lauren there too.
When they insist they aren’t ghosting him, he demands to know what’s going on.
As the day of Joel’s funeral dawns, struggling Lauren offers an olive branch to Bobby by inviting him to pay Frankie a visit in the hospital.
However, things get more complicated when Max admits to Lauren that he has feelings for her. Though she is initially taken aback, she reveals that she feels the same.
Elsewhere, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) grows suspicious when he notices Dee-Dee acting strangely.
As he listens in on a conversation between her and Joel’s dad Gus, Kit is unconvinced when she suggests she might attend the funeral because she believes in forgiveness.
Is Kit right to be suspicious of Dee-Dee, or is he on the wrong track?
