Dee-Dee makes a horrifying discovery after Joel’s murder in Coronation Street

Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) has so much going on in Coronation Street right now.

A few weeks ago, Kit (Jacob Roberts) and DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) found evil Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) car on a bridge and a note that suggested he had ended his life.

On top of the discoveries regarding Joel preying on vulnerable young women, Dee-Dee was forced to try and come to terms with the fact her partner would never face police consequences for his actions.

Another twist to this tale happened a couple of days later. Joel’s body was found in a lake and then taken for a post mortem, where Kit learnt that Joel was dead before he ended up in the water, meaning he had been murdered.

Amid this investigation, Dee-Dee is continuing to support Lauren (Cait Fitton) and baby Frankie. In upcoming episodes, Lauren gives Dee-Dee some flowers as a thanks for offering her and Frankie a home.

The young mum’s social worker then calls at Dee-Dee’s for a chat. Just as Dee-Dee makes some tea, she finds an old love note from Joel in the cupboard.

Upset and overwhelmed by the present situation with Joel, but also the past they had together, Dee-Dee rushes out.

In the week, Kit spends time in the café and grows suspicious of Dee-Dee’s abstracted behaviour.

Curious she might be hiding something, Kit’s theory is fuelled when he listens to Dee-Dee talk to Joel’s dad Gus.

They discuss Joel’s funeral and Kit can’t help but wonder what exactly Dee-Dee means when she discusses the importance of forgiveness.

Is Dee-Dee hiding something about Joel’s murder?

Was she responsible, or is she covering for someone?
