The hunt is on for Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) killer in Coronation Street, and more and more suspects keep landing in the frame.

In upcoming scenes, it is Carla Connor’s (Alison King) shifty behaviour that makes her a suspect – but has she done it?

Joel went missing at the end of September, and it was quickly decided that his death was a suicide.

However, weeks later, his body was found in a local river, and the post-mortem determined that he had been murdered before entering the water.

So far, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) seems no closer to finding the real culprit, though he has questioned several characters.

His inquiries have so far seen him quiz Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) on his possession of a crowbar, and demand alibis from Ed and Ronnie Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges and Vinta Morgan).

In upcoming scenes, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) grows suspicious of his aunty, and questions whether she has been honest about her movements on the night of Joel’s demise.

Carla insists that she simply nipped out to turn the lights off at the factory, but is she telling the truth?

The next day, she reveals to Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) that she lied to the police by telling them she had spent all night in the flat with him and Ryan, leaving out the part where she visited her business.

Was Carla really at the factory on that fateful night, or does she have good reason to be lying to the police?

We know that Carla strongly disliked Joel and had previously called him out on his vile behaviour. He had even threatened to sue her for slander – could she have killed him before he got the chance?
