‘It’s personal’ Coronation Street star confirms both Lisa and Carla are hiding Joel murder secrets

Carla Connor (Alison King) leaves her family shocked when she makes a confession relating to Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) murder case in upcoming Coronation Street scenes, but she isn’t the only one with a secret.

Joel Deering was found murdered earlier this month and the hunt is on for his killer.

After he went missing at the end of September, police were certain that his death was a suicide.

However, when his body later washed up in a river, the post-mortem proved that he had been dead before hitting the water, meaning that there is now an active murder investigation.

With Joel having made plenty of enemies, there are plenty of people in the frame for his murder, and Carla isn’t doing herself any favours.

In upcoming scenes, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) quizzes her on her whereabouts on the night of Joel’s death.

Joel was last seen on September 27 with scratches on his face, having clearly had an altercation with someone.

However, Carla insists that she simply nipped out to the factory to turn off the lights – but is she telling the truth?

The next day, it becomes clear that she is hiding something when she informs Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) that she lied to the police and told them she had been at home with him and Ryan all evening.

Why does Carla feel the need to lie to the police? Is she hiding something big that could connect her to Joel’s murder? Or, is she the killer?

Elsewhere, DS Lisa Swain is hiding a secret of her own. Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) is left shocked when she walks in to find Lisa covered in bruises – but where have they come from?
